HALASANA
The name comes from the sanskrit word 'hala' means 'plow', and 'asana' means 'posture'. This asana is also called 'plough pose'. It prepares the body for relaxation and meditation.
Steps:
- Lay down back on floor and relax.
- Rise the both legs and touch the ground as shown in the below figure.
- Keep the palms flat on the ground.
- Hold on for a few minutes.
- Come back to the normal position and take rest for a few seconds.
- Do this asana for 1-2 times.

- It cures obesity, constipation, dyspepsia, liver and spleen disorders.
- It strengthens the abdominal muscles and nourishes the spinal nervous.
- It also cures myalgia, lumbago, sprain in the neck and neuralgia.
Precautions:
- The movements should be slow and gradual.
- Those suffering from asthama or hypertesion and liver or spleen disorders should practice under the guidance of experience yoga teacher.
- Avoid this asana if you are suffering from diarrhea, menstruation and neck injury.
- Pregnant women who are experienced in this pose can continue to do so late into their pregnancy. Do not attempt this pose if you have not done it before.
